Herbal Cascarones

Spring equinox ritual and silliness.

These herbal casacrones are a sweet way we bring ritual and fun to our spring equinox. This tradition of filling an egg with confetti and cracking over someones head originates in Mexico and usually takes place on Easter, birthdays or other celebrations, For a little witchy twist on the traditional filling… try the herbal blend I share below for clearing energy and inviting in blessings for the next cycle of the sun.

Ingredients/ Supplies

  1. 6 Eggs

  2. Tissue Paper

  3. Elmers Glue

  4. 6 Tbsp Herbal Blend: equal parts sage, rose, calendula, chamomile (1 tbsp of herbs for each egg)

Instructions

  1. Poke a small hole in the wide end of the egg with a sewing needle, shake the inside of egg out, rise well and then let dry.

  2. Combine herbs and fill each egg with 1 Tbsp of the herbal blend.

  3. Cut 1 inch circles out of tissue paper and glue over the opening of each egg.

  4. Ritual: Each participant calls out what they are ready to clear out of their life energetically and what blessings they are ready to call into their life. The person next to them then cracks the egg on top of their head while saying “ may it be so!”.
