Wild Root Soup

This is an earthy soup to get you cleansing this spring. We recommend using fresh leeks, dandelion and fresh turmeric as they give the soup a unique aromatic taste. But if you don’t have access to those, we’ve listed substitutions that are easy to come by. The  Savory Herb Spice Blend is a pungent spice blend specifically formulated for cleansing lymph and blood. Turmeric Nasturtium Ghee is a high-heat cooking oil that also supports healthy blood, liver and digestion. 

Ingredients:

3 leeks (or 1 whole onion chopped)   
4 whole dandelions (or 2 tbsp dried roots)
1 cup red lentils 
3½  water or broth
1 tbsp. fresh chopped turmeric or dried
6 cloves of chopped garlic
3 tbsps. Turmeric Nasturtium Ghee
1 tbsp. Savory Herb Spice Blend
1 tsp. salt
Juice of 1 lemon

Directions:

  1. Soak lentils overnight.

  2. Strain and add 3 ½  cups of water or broth, dandelion roots, turmeric, leeks, Turmeric Nasturtium Ghee and Savory Herb Spice Blend

  3. Cook for 45 mins on the stove top or 20 mins pressure cooker.

  4. Add salt and blend 

  5. Garnish with lemon, chopped fresh dandelion leaves and flowers.
